Sculptra Aesthetic Injectable Treatments

Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that stimulates collagen production to build volume and improve the skin’s appearance. Sculptra works in unison with your body to help revitalize collagen production within the deep dermis as well as to help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume. It can be used to treat a variety of concerns, from volume loss in the face, neck, and chest, to building a fuller buttock. It improves the texture of the overlying skin, leaving you natural and glowing for two years or more, in addition to volumizing like a traditional filler.

Rebuild Lost Collagen

Sculptra is made with a biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments.

Sculptra is injected within the deep dermis, where collagen strands support your skin’s structure. Over time, this treatment helps the body reproduce collagen in the areas where it is placed, generally areas where the body has naturally lost collagen. The number of appointments and the number of injections per appointment will vary depending on how much collagen has been lost. On average, usually, three appointments are needed over a period of a few months.

Sculptra may be the ideal choice for you if you want to appear more youthful-looking – without appearing like you’ve had work done.

Sculptra FAQ's

This varies depending on age and the amount of volume loss, but the average patient requires approximately 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. We like to wait at least 4 weeks in order to evaluate how much collagen the skin has created. We will tailor future treatments based on how you present after your first treatment.

This is a common question, as you can find countless stories on the internet about “Sculptra nodules.” The reality is, when Sculptra was first introduced, the way they were preparing and injecting the product was less than ideal. The product was too thick and when placed too superficially, patients were getting too much collagen growth in small areas instead of subtle collagen growth everywhere.

The newest studies with the new preparation techniques have shown zero incidences of nodules. We prepare the product very differently (add a lot more liquid so it is a finer product), we inject it differently (deeper), and we give you “homework” to do at home after your treatment. Again, this is very injector-dependent. Not every injector prepares or injects this product as regularly as we do.

We are one of the top Sculptra providers in NJ and have spent years honing our skillset with this beautiful “tool.” At Arria, we take all potential risks very seriously and go above and beyond to prevent them.

You will be instructed to do massage in the treated area per the “5-5-5” rule, whereby you will massage for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days. This ensures that the product has been well-distributed. When you are in our office, we will review exactly where we treated and where you are expected to massage so that you are confident before you leave that you are doing it correctly.
